Care your pet deserves

Nutrition is foundational to your pet's health, but it often only gets a few minutes in a standard vet appointment. My role is to give it the time and attention it deserves.

Evidence-led approach

Every recommendation is grounded in current peer-reviewed veterinary nutrition research — not feeding trends or marketing claims.

Tailored to your pet

Plans are built around your individual pet — their breed, age, lifestyle, health history, and your household's preferences and budget.

Treated like my own

I care for every patient as I would my own. You'll get thoughtful guidance, clear written plans, and a partner in your pet's wellbeing.

Info on raw feeding

Raw and home-prepared diets can offer real benefits for many dogs — but research has highlighted areas where careful planning makes all the difference. With proper veterinary guidance, you can give your pet the upsides of feeding outside the bag without exposing them to the downsides.

Energy and body condition

Raw-fed dogs are often leaner — but research suggests many are also subtly underfed. Hitting the right energy target matters.

Mineral and vitamin balance

Several key minerals and vitamins are commonly under-supplied in raw rations. Getting this right takes more than just adding a supplement.

Gut microbiome diversity

Raw-fed dogs tend to have richer, more diverse gut flora — alongside higher levels of opportunistic bacteria. The balance can be managed.

Glycaemic response

Different ingredients trigger very different blood glucose and insulin responses, with real implications for some dogs.

Protein and fat content

Raw rations are typically high in both — an asset for some dogs, a problem for others. The right level depends on the individual.

Where I come in

My role is to take the guesswork out of it — capturing the genuine benefits of fresh feeding while addressing the gaps the research has identified.

Drawing on findings from von Lindeiner et al. (2026, BMC Veterinary Research), Vastolo et al. (2023, Frontiers in Veterinary Science), and Kim et al. (2017, Gut Pathogens).

BVSc · Cert Animal Nutrition

I am a practising clinical veterinarian with a strong interest in nutrition and the central role it plays in our animals' health. To deepen this expertise, I completed a postgraduate Certificate in Animal Nutrition and am currently working towards a Master's degree in the field.

My aim is to bring this knowledge and enthusiasm into the consult, building a comprehensive nutrition plan tailored to you and your loved pet. It's important to note that I am not able to advise on medical conditions, and these consultations do not substitute veterinary care. Rather, VetBowl is here to support owners and their vets in an area that is vital to pet wellbeing — but one that often receives only a few minutes of attention in a standard appointment.
