Privacy Policy
Last updated: 7 May 2026
VetBowl ("we," "our," "I," or "Dr Lachlan Chittock") respects your privacy. This policy explains what information I collect when you use this website or book a consultation, how that information is used, and what rights you have over it. If you have any questions, please get in touch at admin@veterinarybowl.com.
1. Who I am
VetBowl is a veterinary nutrition consulting service operated by Dr Lachlan Chittock (BVSc, Cert Animal Nutrition). The business is based in the United Kingdom. For the purposes of data protection law, I am the data controller for any personal information you provide.
2. What I collect
I only collect information that's necessary to provide my service. This includes:
- Contact details — your name, email address, and (if provided) phone number.
- Pet information — your pet's name, species, breed, age, current diet, and any health information relevant to nutritional advice.
- Booking details — date and time of your consultation, the service selected, and any notes you've added when booking.
- Communication records — emails or messages exchanged with me, and any written nutrition plans or summaries I send you.
- Payment information — payments are processed by third-party providers (such as Stripe via Calendly). I do not store your full card details on this site.
I do not knowingly collect any information from children under 16. The service is intended for adult pet owners.
3. How I use your information
Your information is used only for the following purposes:
- To deliver the consultation you've booked, including preparing tailored advice for your pet.
- To send you confirmation emails, calendar invites, Zoom links, and follow-up materials.
- To process payments and issue receipts.
- To respond to questions you've asked, before or after a consultation.
- To meet legal, accounting, or regulatory obligations (for example, retaining client records as required by veterinary practice standards).
I will never sell your information to third parties, use it for unrelated marketing, or share it with anyone outside the purposes above without your explicit consent.
4. Third-party services I use
To run this service, I rely on a small number of trusted providers. Each has their own privacy policy, which I encourage you to review:
- Calendly — handles bookings and pre-consultation questionnaires. Privacy policy.
- Zoom — used for the consultations themselves. Privacy policy.
- Stripe (or whichever payment provider Calendly uses) — processes payments. Privacy policy.
- Email provider — used to send written plans and replies to your queries.
- Website host — this site is hosted on Vercel, which may collect basic technical logs (such as visitor counts) for security and reliability purposes.
5. How long I keep your information
I retain consultation records and associated personal information for as long as is reasonably necessary to provide ongoing care, respond to follow-up questions, and meet any professional or legal record-keeping obligations. After that period, records are deleted or anonymised.
If you'd like your data deleted earlier, you can request this at any time (see Section 7 below).
6. How your information is protected
I take reasonable steps to keep your information secure, including using reputable third-party services that encrypt data in transit and at rest. However, no system is completely secure, and I cannot guarantee absolute security of information transmitted over the internet.
If a data breach affecting your personal information were to occur, I would notify you and any relevant authorities as required by law.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights under data protection law including:
- The right to access the information I hold about you.
- The right to correct inaccurate information.
- The right to request deletion of your information.
- The right to object to certain uses of your information.
- The right to data portability (receiving your information in a machine-readable format).
- The right to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority — for UK residents, this is the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
To exercise any of these rights, contact me at admin@veterinarybowl.com. I'll respond within a reasonable timeframe and at no cost to you.
8. Cookies and analytics
This website does not currently use tracking cookies or analytics that identify individual visitors. Embedded third-party tools (such as the Calendly booking widget) may set their own cookies — please refer to their respective privacy policies for details.
If I add analytics or tracking in the future, this policy will be updated and (where required) consent will be requested.
9. International transfers
Some of the third-party providers I use (such as Calendly, Zoom, and Stripe) are based in or operate from the United States and other countries. Where your data is transferred outside the United Kingdom, those providers maintain safeguards required by data protection law to keep your information secure.
10. Updates to this policy
This policy may be updated from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. For significant changes, I'll notify existing clients by email where possible.
11. Contact
